HOLY LOTS AND LOTS OF ALT TEXT!
Despite the strength of The Civil Speck's thaumic shielding, this is actually very sloppy work compared to what can be achieved with modern runemaking.
A shield such as this is indeed good at it's job, but every thaumic shield must have a weakness if it wants to be strong against something else.

As it stands, this one has a paltry 17 runes per column, and given their size, there is no room for refinement and strengthening.
It does not output elemental energy very well, and is quite inefficient in requiring drifting thaumic energy to power it,
when proper shield runes take a strong, concentrated source of thaumic energy and push it out aggressively.

This shield does not have any major weaknesses either.
Yes, that is bad. A shield with one specific thing being its weakness holds off incredibly well against all other forces,
while a shield that can block anything will wear down quickly under war conditions.

Thankfully, this shield is only in use against hostile (but not particularly smart) wildlife, beasties which do not know how to coordinate warhead onslaught,
or even make warheads.

I find myself liking to use the alt-text for exposition...

See y'all soon!
